Financial Assistance To Destitute Children Schemes

This is a State Scheme under which parents/guardians of the children upto the age of 21 years who are categorized as deprived as per the below mentioned criteria are provided financial assistance, Initially the rate of financial assistance of Rs. 200 per month per child w.e.f. 1.3.2009 subject to a maximum limit of benefit for two children of one family was laid down in the scheme. The rate of pension under this scheme is Rs. 500/- per month per child from January, 2014, Rs. 700/- w.e.f. 01-11-2016 , Rs. 900/- w.e.f. 01-11-2017, Rs. 1100/- w.e.f. 01-11-2018, Rs. 1350/- w.e.f. 01.01.2020, Rs. 1600/- w.e.f. 01.04.2021 and Rs. 1850/- w.e.f. 01.04.2023 and Rs. 2100/-(one child) w.e.f. 01.01.2024.

• 1. Eligibility Criteria
     • Child under twenty-one years of age who has been deprived of parental support or care by reason of death, continued absence from the home of father for the last 2 years, or father/mother has been sentenced to imprisonment for a period not less than one year or physical or mental incapacity of a parent.
     • Income of parents / guardians should not exceed Rs.2,00,000/- per annum
     • Benefits to extend up to two children of a family only.
